Mrs. Jessica Klemann
Extended Learning Teacher
From Mrs. Klemann:
This year I have the privilege of teaching in the newly created role of Extended Learning Teacher. I assist the 1 – 8 grade classroom teachers in identifying students that are struggling with academic skills or executive functioning skills. We determine where a student is functioning and exactly what skills they need to improve. We come up with an assistance and explicit instruction plan to strengthen the area of challenge. We also work on helping students develop organizational, planning & prioritization, task initiation, goal- directed persistence, time management, and sustained attention skills to help them develop positive learning characteristics. By using God’s Word as the foundation and an inspiration along with the guidance of a dedicated and caring staff, our students will see God’s will fulfilled on a daily basis.
I grew up in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and am the oldest of five children. I attended Winnebago Lutheran Academy and then graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College in 1997 with elementary and early childhood education degrees. My first call was to an ELS congregation in Naples, FL where I started and ran a year round preschool and child care center for three years. I moved back to WI, got married in 2000, and started teaching kindergarten at Calvary Lutheran, Thiensville which is now Christ Alone Lutheran School (CALS). I taught kindergarten and preschool for three years. Then I stayed home to take care of my three children, work on Synod certification, substitute teach, and teach piano lessons. I returned to teaching at CALS in 2016 as the 3K & 4K preschool teacher. This year I started my new role as Extended Learning Teacher. Currently, I am working on acquiring my special education teacher’s license..
My husband is an engineering manager at Rockwell Automation and we have three children ages, 21, 19, and 15. We enjoy spending time with our children, attending their events and traveling with them. We also try to attend some of our 20 nieces and nephews’ events. I love to read, sew, and spend time outside hiking, biking, and gardening.
