Teaching at Christ Alone is a joy and a gift every day. God has blessed me with the job of helping young Christians grow in their brains, hearts, and faith.
I grew up in Mequon, Wi. Christ Alone was my home church and school. I attended Wisconsin Lutheran High School and continued at Dr. Martin Luther College (currently Martin Luther College) to receive my teaching degree.
My first Call was to St. John’s, Montello, grades 3-4. I met my future husband Mike Albrecht there. The year of our engagement I taught at Bloomington Lutheran (grade 4) in Bloomington, MN. We got married at Christ Alone in 1998. I began teaching at St. John’s, Milwaukee (2nd grade). After 3 years I received a Call to teach 2nd grade at St. Jacobi Lutheran in Greenfield, Wi. This was the school Mike was teaching at. We decided it was time to combine forces and make life and schedules a bit easier at one school 🙂 My time at St. Jacobi was short, only until December of that year. Our first daughter, Michaela was born in February.
My husband took the Call to teach 3-4 grades at Christ Alone in 2006, and eventually 5-6 grades in 2020. While he taught at our school, all 4 of our children attended throughout the years. I was a stay at home mom and worked at Glaze, a paint your own pottery studio for the next 16 years. In 2021, my husband died unexpectedly a week before school was to start. Our lives changed completely. God’s plan is good, and he gives us the strength we need every day to get through. In 2022, I received a Call to teach 5-6 grades at our school Christ Alone. Every day I am encouraged and lifted up by the children in my classroom. We continue to grow as a class in faith and His grace every day.
We have 4 children. Michaela is currently at Martin Luther College studying to be a teacher. James is currently at Iowa State studying to be a teacher. Jake is a senior at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. Kate is a sophomore at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. Sadie is our dog 🙂 I love to read, play board games, and be with my family.
