Teaching at Christ Alone is a gift and joy every day. God has blessed me with the job of helping young Christians grow in their minds, hearts, and faith.
I grew up in Mequon, Wi. Christ Alone was my home church and school. I attended Wisconsin Lutheran High School and continued at Dr. Martin Luther College (currently Martin Luther College) to receive my teaching degree.
My first Call to St. John’s, Montello teaching grades 3-4. I met my future husband Mike Albrecht there. The year of our engagement I taught grade 4 at Bloomington Lutheran in Bloomington, MN. Later on, we got married at Christ Alone in 1998. I began teaching grade 2 at St. John’s, Milwaukee. After 3 years, I received a Call to teach 2nd grade at St. Jacobi Lutheran in Greenfield, Wi. This was the school Mike was teaching at. Finally, we decided it was time to combine forces and make life and schedules a bit easier at one school. 🙂 Although my time at St. Jacobi only lasted until December, because our first daughter, Michaela was born in February.
Our time at Christ Alone
Finally, our time at Christ Alone started when my husband took the Call to teach grades 3-4 in 2006. Later he moved to teaching grades 5-6 in 2020. In addition, all 4 of our children attended while he was teaching there. Meanwhile, I was a stay-at-home mom who worked at Glaze for the next 16 years. Yet in 2021, my husband died unexpectedly a week before school was starting. Our lives changed completely.
But, God’s plan is good, and He gives us the strength we need every day to get through. In 2022, I received a Call to teach grades 5-6 at Christ Alone. Every day I am encouraged and lifted up by the children in my classroom. We continue to grow as a class in faith and His grace every day.
We have 4 children. Michaela is a teacher in Texas. James is currently at Iowa State studying to be a teacher. Jake is a junior at Martin Luther College. Kate is a graduate from Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. Sadie is our dog. 🙂 I love to read, play board games, and be with my family.
