Mr. Paul Berger
Principal, Grade 8 Math
From Mr. Berger:
It’s been such a blessing to serve the students and families of Christ Alone Lutheran School (CALS) these last few years. All constituents of CALS have been so supportive in our ministry here. The students are the beneficiaries of the congregation, pastors, teachers, and families all working together to share the love of Jesus, our Savior.
I was born and raised on the far northwest side of Milwaukee. My parents were both teachers at Salem Lutheran School. My mom was my kindergarten teacher and my dad was my 8th grade teacher. I went to Wisconsin Lutheran High School where I played football, participated in band, and took college prep classes. After graduating from Martin Luther College I was assigned to Trinity Lutheran School in Watertown, WI. I then served at St. Paul’s Lutheran School, Cudahy. Thirteen years at University Lake School, Delafield, taught me that all students deserve a great education. From there, I went to work as a director of operations for HOPE Christian School-Fortis in Milwaukee. I had shorter stints at Word of Life Lutheran and Christ-St. Peter Lutheran on Milwaukee’s south side. Immediately prior to coming to CALS, I was founding president and the mission advancement director of Chaplains in Schools, a ministry that serves children in Christian schools that are not sponsored by a church. I pray I can use all my experiences to benefit the students, families, and faculty of CALS.
I have been married to Rebecca Henning for over 40 years and have three adult children and four grandchildren. My favorite pastimes are golf, photography, and watching the Milwaukee Bucks.

Favorite Bible Passage:
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
Romans 1:16
