How Christ Alone Started
| Christ Alone Lutheran Church started in 2017 from the consolidation of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (Mequon) and (Calvary Lutheran Church of Thiensville). The two congregations saw an opportunity to do outreach more effectively, and after several years of studies, voted to consolidate. Both churches have long histories in serving the Mequon/Thiensville area. Trinity was established in 1853 on Green Bay Road in south Mequon, eight years before the Civil War. For the past 165 years, it has been proclaiming God’s word. Calvary was established in 1931 because people saw a need for English services. Christ Alone School was added next to the church in the early 1960s (110 Division Street, Thiensville). Christ Alone exists to serve our neighbors with the life-giving and life-changing message of Scripture: God gave his one and only Son to die for our sins. So that we might have new life at peace with Him! We have regular weekly worship services, and Bible classes. Also, we have fellowship opportunities to maintain a connection to the community. Through our Lutheran elementary school, and area Lutheran high schools we seek to grow in that message and share it with all who will hear. We believe that by our own words and actions, each of us has fallen short of the perfection that God demands and we deserve his condemnation. But God in his love sent his own Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to be the savior of all people, that through his suffering, death and resurrection he might pay for the sins of all people. God gives this forgiveness of sins and eternal life to us through faith in his Word. Our church stands united in faith and practice with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).
