Mr. Micah Wendt
Grades 7 & 8
I was born in Sturgis, SD, while my family resided in Faith, SD. Being the son of a called worker, we moved a couple of times, living in Missoula, MT, and Onalaska, WI, where I spent most of my time growing up. I am the eldest of four brothers. I attended First Lutheran School in La Crosse, WI. There I was confirmed in the one true faith, graduated and then moved on to Luther High School in Onalaska, WI. There I affirmed my conviction that teaching was my calling and decided to further my education at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. There I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a licensed minor in Social Studies.
I received my first teaching assignment in 2017 to Immanuel Lutheran School in Salem, OR. There I taught 3rd-5th grade, Social Studies in 6th-8th grade, and served as the athletic director, coaching most of the sports. In December 2017, I married Courtney Homann, who would move out to Oregon with me. She assisted in the Kindergarten and Preschool classrooms and was the lead in the Aftercare Program at Immanuel. Our first son, Jaxson, was born in 2019, followed by our second son, Greyson, in 2022. In 2022, I accepted a call to become the 4th grade teacher at Risen Savior Lutheran School – East Campus in Milwaukee, WI. I spent one year as the 4th grade teacher before transitioning to the 6th grade classroom, where I taught middle school Science, Religion, and Writing. Additionally, I helped coach the A and B boys’ basketball teams and served as the head coach of the B girls’ basketball team last year. Our third son, Hudson, was born in 2025. In April 2025, I received and accepted the call to become the 7th and 8th grade teacher and athletic director at Christ Alone Lutheran School.
My family and I are excited to start another new chapter in our lives, where we look forward to meeting new people and creating memorable experiences at Christ Alone. I enjoy all Wisconsin sports, watching auto racing, coaching and playing sports, trying new restaurants, and spending quality time with family and friends.
