Letter from the Principal
Parents are blessed with an incredible responsibility when God entrusts children into their care. At Christ Alone Lutheran School (CALS) in Thiensville, WI, we exist to partner with parents in this calling—supporting them with God’s Word and providing an excellent education that helps children develop their gifts and abilities to the fullest, all for the glory of God. Our mission statement is “Compelled by Christ’s love, CALS partners with families to educate, equip, and encourage students for life and eternity.”
From K3 through 8th grade, CALS offers a Christ-centered education that spans 11 years of growth, learning, and discovery. Our students receive a strong academic foundation while also having opportunities to explore and use their God-given talents in athletics, music, drama, art, and forensics.
Yet the most important thing we do each day is point our students to Jesus. His saving love and the promises of His Word are at the heart of all we teach. By seeking God’s kingdom first, CALS supports parents in their greatest responsibility: leading their children to know, love, and trust their Savior.

Our vision is to continue to partner with families in providing an environment where our students can grow spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally. We do this by using God’s Word as the foundation of our curriculum, along with guidance from a dedicated, caring staff. We will all grow together in faith and love, and in service to the community, as we teach the Word of God in truth and purity throughout the curriculum each day.
Background
CALS, formerly Calvary Lutheran, is a ministry of Christ Alone Lutheran Church, formerly Calvary Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran. Our school has served the the Mequon-Thiensville community for over 60 years, while our congregation has served the community since 1853.
We are united in faith and practice with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). For a more complete statement of our beliefs, go to “This We Believe”.
CALS is accredited by Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod School Accreditation (WELSSA) and the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA).
