Mrs. Carrie Henning

3K Preschool

From Mrs. Henning:

I was born on March 27, 1973 in Chilton, WI. My family owned a dairy farm in Hilbert, WI. I spent my grade school years attending Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Brillion, WI. In 1987, I celebrated my confirmation at Trinity, Brillion.

For the next four years I attended Manitowoc Lutheran High School. My parents have always been avid supporters of Christian education. They believed the benefits of a Christian education for their 3 children far outweighed the challenge of tuition and a thirty minute commute. I graduated in 1991 and decided to attend UW-Stout majoring in Vocational Rehabilitation with Certification in Special Education. I spent 3 semesters at UW-Stout, yet realized that God’s plan for me was to complete my degree at MLC where I graduated in December 1995 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with a minor in English.

I received a teaching assignment to Nebraska Lutheran High School in Waco, NE.  The English teacher was on maternity leave. My responsibilities were 9th, 10th, and 11th grade English, director for the spring play, and forensics coach. I was then assigned to Michigan Lutheran Seminary as a tutor, freshman English teacher, and Poms coach for the 1996-97 school year. I became Mrs. Henning in June of 1997 and prepared to teach grade school for the first time at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Bangor, MI as the Kindergarten through 3rd grade teacher. We were blessed with our first child in the fall of 1998 and I was excited and grateful to transition to the role of Stay-At-Home Mom. We moved to Caledonia, WI where our family grew and flourished. Mike’s next Call brought us to MN, where I became a Preschool aide at Brooklyn Park Lutheran School and then Holy Trinity Lutheran School. I was happy and content to serve and volunteer in various roles over the years at the congregations Mike served. In 2013, God graciously provided the opportunity for me to teach Preschool as well as 7th and 8th grade English at St. John’s, Wauwatosa. In 2014, I was given the opportunity to focus solely on Preschool at St. John’s, growing and expanding the ministry with my colleagues. I am blessed, grateful, and excited to begin teaching Preschool at Christ Alone for the 2023-24 school year.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
