Miss Sue Schachtschneider
Grades 5 & 6
From Miss Schachtschneider
My parents owned a small farm in Boltonville, Wisconsin, where I was born. Over the years we raised many vegetables, crops, chickens, and beef cattle.
I attended church and grade school at St. John’s Lutheran in Newburg, WI, and high school at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. I graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, and was assigned to teach grades 4-8 at Buffalo Lutheran School in Cochrane, WI. I taught there for 19 years, also serving as school secretary and lead teacher (administrator), before accepting a call to teach kindergarten in Wisconsin Rapids. I served there one year before accepting a call to teach grades 2-4 in Toledo, OH.
Shortly thereafter, I returned to my family’s farm, where I currently live. Besides the beef cattle, we have barn cats that have a lot of little kitties every year. I love spending time with my three sisters and their families and my brother. I also love to read books.
